ORGANIZATION: The Salvation Army San Diego Regional Office

Calling all Holiday Elves. The Salvation Army is now taking volunteer applicants to join our Christmas Cheer Committee.

  • Do you start decorating for the holidays in October?
  • Do you enjoy Hallmark movies and watch them year round?
  • Do you have your Christmas shopping lists ready in the summer?

If you answered yes to any or all above, you are exactly who we are looking for to join The Salvation Army's Christmas Cheer Committee.

Christmas is a big deal at The Salvation Army, so much so we start planning in July. Christmas in July is a real thing and we want you to help us bring cheer to San Diego county by promoting our programs, helping us make and distribute holiday cards to seniors, bell ring, collect toys and distribute them and most importantly have fun doing it with other people that love the Christmas holiday season.

  1. Ability to meet once per month to plan and create. We will meet more often October -December (we have over 500 Christmas cards to make before December).
  2. Have a sense of humor. Things dont always turn out the way we planned and that's OK because we have fun in the process.
  3. Looking for creative people and people that like to create. No particular skills necessary just willing to have a great time, eat cookies and sneak in some caroling.
  4. Interest in spreading the holiday cheer with your community through social media or grass roots marketing efforts.
  5. Help us recruit community partners to volunteer with us over the holiday season.

Please Note: We are NOT accepting court-ordered community service volunteers or volunteers under the age of 16 for this position.
