The World Roma Federation (WRF) is seeking dedicated and passionate lobbyists to join our team and help expand our operations in the United States. Our primary goal is to advocate for the formation of a Caucus for Roma issues in the U.S. Congress, as there currently is no such representation, despite the existence of caucuses for many other social issues. Additionally, our work in foreign affairs is crucial, as the Roma community experiences challenges on a global scale.

Overview of the World Roma Federation (WRF):

The World Roma Federation is dedicated to addressing the myriad of challenges faced by the Romani community, including discrimination, lack of access to education and healthcare, and socio-economic marginalization. We work tirelessly to advocate for the rights and inclusion of Roma people worldwide through education, awareness-raising, and lobbying efforts.

Responsibilities:
  • Advocate for the formation of a U.S. Congressional Caucus for Roma issues.
  • Lobby for policies and legislation that support the Romani community both domestically and internationally.
  • Build and maintain relationships with legislators, government officials, and key stakeholders.
  • Monitor and analyze legislative and policy developments relevant to Roma issues.
  • Collaborate with WRF leadership to develop and implement effective lobbying strategies.
  • Participate in meetings, hearings, and events to represent WRF and the Roma community.
Requirements:
  • Strong understanding of U.S. legislative and political processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in lobbying, advocacy, or public policy.
  • Passion for social justice and human rights.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Background in foreign affairs is a plus, but not required.
