Do you love animals and want to make a meaningful impact in your community? FIDO is looking for dedicated volunteers to join our Warehouse Open Hours team! By helping us distribute essential pet supplies, you’ll play a crucial role in keeping pets with their families, even in tough times. Here are the roles we need your help with:

  • Texter
  • Parking Lot Monitor
  • Runner

We need volunteers able to help on

  • Sundays 11:30 AM - 3:00 PM
  • Wednesdays 3:30 PM - 7:00 PM

By volunteering with us, you help with our mission of improving the lives of outside dogs, as well as helping keep pets in their loving homes!

Mission Statement

To improve the quality of life of outside dogs.

Description

FIDO stands for Friends of Indianapolis Dogs Outside. We are a non-profit group that works in low-income neighborhoods of Indianapolis. Our focus is finding and helping dogs living isolated on the end of a chain. We help people transition dogs inside the home to be part of the family. We also build large, secure enclosures to free dogs from the end of a chain and have a monthly pet food pantry. We consist of FIDO staff, contractors and 60+ volunteers.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be at least 18
  • 3.5 hours
  • Texter and Parking Lot Monitor Roles require being comfortable with texting and basic smart phone usage. Parking Lot Monitor and Runner roles require being able to work standing and walking in outdoor conditions. Runner requires the ability to lift.
