STEM Montessori Academy of Canada (SMAC-SIAC) is a registered not-for-profit organization specializing in science, technology, engineering, and math. The STEM programming is open to all students with the mission to deliver top-notch STEM literacy and application. The SMAC will specialize in an advanced bar-none. STEM-based educational curriculum that emphasizes the interconnected subject areas of science, technology, engineering, and math.
We are expanding our programming to industry-specific, hands-on experiences. We require a Social Media Manager for the Coding Academy to help us keep the momentum going in support of the growth and development of these programs. We ask you to join us in continuing to service the youth in our community.

Time Commitment: 3 - 6 hours per week for 3-4 months.
Start Date: Immediate
Location:STEM Montessori Academy of Canada (Remote)


Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive social media strategy to increase brand awareness and engagement.
  • Identify target audiences and tailor content and campaigns to reach and resonate with them.
  • Create and manage engaging and high-quality content for the academy’s social media channels, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and others.
  • Develop a content calendar to ensure regular and consistent posting.
  • Monitor and respond to comments, messages, and inquiries on social media platforms in a timely and professional manner.
  • Engage with followers, students, and community members to foster a positive and active online community.
  • Plan and execute social media campaigns to promote the academy’s programs, events, and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to align social media efforts with broader marketing campaigns and goals.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or a related field (or equivalent experience).Strong understanding of social media platforms, trends, and best practices.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in social media management tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer) and analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Facebook Insights).
  • Basic graphic design skills and familiarity with design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) is a plus.
