STEM Montessori Academy of Canada (SMAC-SIAC) is a registered not-for-profit organization specializing in science, technology, engineering, and math. The STEM programming is open to all students with the mission to deliver top-notch STEM literacy and application. The SMAC will specialize in an advanced bar-none. STEM-based educational curriculum that emphasizes the interconnected subject areas of science, technology, engineering, and math.
We are expanding our programming to industry-specific, hands-on experiences. We require an Internship Manager for the Coding Academy to help us keep the momentum going in support of the growth and development of these programs. We ask you to join us in continuing to service the youth in our community.

Time Commitment: 3 - 6 hours per week for 3-4 months.

  • Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement internship programs that align with the academy’s curriculum and student career goals.
  • Develop internship opportunities by building partnerships with tech companies, startups, and other relevant organizations.
  • Manage the end-to-end internship process, including recruitment, placement, and evaluation of interns.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for students, employers, and other stakeholders involved in the internship program.
  • Assist students in preparing for internships, including resume writing, interview preparation, and professional skills development.
  • Provide ongoing support and guidance to interns throughout their placement.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with existing and potential internship providers.
  • Ensure that internship providers offer meaningful and educational experiences for students.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the internship program through feedback from students and employers.
  • Prepare reports on program outcomes and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Promote internship opportunities to students through workshops, information sessions, and online platforms.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to create promotional materials and campaigns for the internship program.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Previous experience in program management, career services, or a related field, preferably in an educational or tech environment.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in using career services management software and tools.
