As a counselor or therapist specializing in breast cancer support, your role would involve providing emotional support and counseling to individuals impacted by breast cancer. This includes offering individual therapy sessions to help clients cope with the emotional and psychological challenges of diagnosis, treatment, and recovery. You would facilitate support groups for breast cancer patients and survivors to share and receive peer support.
Responsibilities
1. Providing emotional support and counseling to individuals impacted by breast cancer, including patients and survivors
2. Conducting individual therapy sessions to help clients cope with the emotional and psychological challenges of diagnosis, treatment, and recovery
3.Facilitating support groups for breast cancer patients and survivors to share and receive peer support
4. Collaborating with healthcare professionals to develop personalized treatment plans and ensure coordinated care for clients
5. Connecting clients to resources and services that meet their physical, emotional, and practical during their cancer journey
6. Advocating for clients' rights and addressing barriers to accessing quality healthcare and support services
7. Maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards in all interactions with clients
8. Demonstrating empathy, compassion, and cultural sensitivity in your work with diverse populations affected by breast cancer

Description
Walk by Faith (WBF) was founded in honor Marian Elizabeth Atwater, who battled cancer from 1996-2001.
WBF, Operated by Wellness Bridge Foundation provides unique holistic breast cancer support services to women, which include emotional support, free transportation services, whole comfort kits, care counseling, nutrition and fitness programs, and spiritual counseling. Our proactive approach and practical involvement provide families and individuals with the stable support they need to navigate through emerging uncertainties created by cancer. We work with a network of volunteers, corporate partners, and local charity groups to achieve our goals.
