Join our pioneering team at San Quentin SkunkWorks as the Director of Innovation. Lead our Incarcerated Impact Team to revolutionize criminal justice through innovative projects, fostering creativity, and systemic change.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage high-impact projects aimed at reducing recidivism and empowering incarcerated people.
- Provide top-tier mentorship and leadership development to team members.
- Facilitate effective communication among team members, staff, and external partners.
- Implement robust project management processes, ensuring timely and successful project completion.
- Resolve conflicts and foster a collaborative, inclusive team environment.
- Advocate for our mission and cultivate strategic relationships with key stakeholders in criminal justice reform.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred in relevant fields such as Business, Engineering, or Public Administration.
- Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years in executive leadership roles, including experience as a founder, CEO, or senior executive in tech startups or innovation labs.
- Entrepreneurial Success: Proven track record of building and scaling successful companies or products, particularly in the tech industry.
- Product Development: Extensive experience in product development, from ideation to market launch, with a strong understanding of the tech landscape.
- Innovation and Skunkworks Experience: Background in working within skunkworks or similar environments, driving innovation and disruptive solutions.
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire high-performing, diverse teams, with a focus on mentoring and professional development.
- Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey ideas and foster collaboration.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and innovative thinking skills to develop and implement solutions to systemic challenges.
- Cultural Competence: Deep understanding of and sensitivity to the challenges faced by incarcerated people, with a commitment to diversity and inclusion.
- Advocacy: Experience in advocacy and building relationships with stakeholders in the criminal justice reform community.
