The primary goal of the Business Development Volunteer is to assist in identifying and securing sponsors for our events. Sponsorship is crucial for the success and sustainability of the event, providing financial support, resources, and increased visibility.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Research and Identify Potential Sponsors:

    • Conduct market research to identify potential sponsors that align with the event's mission and audience.
    • Create a list of potential sponsors with relevant contact information.
  2. Develop Sponsorship Proposals:

    • Assist in creating compelling sponsorship proposals and packages.
    • Customize proposals to suit the interests and needs of potential sponsors.
  3. Outreach and Relationship Building:

    • Initiate contact with potential sponsors via email, phone calls, and meetings.
    • Build and maintain relationships with sponsors through consistent communication and follow-up.
  4. Collaborate with Event Team:

    • Work closely with the event planning team to ensure sponsor requirements and expectations are met.
    • Coordinate with marketing and PR teams to provide sponsors with appropriate recognition and publicity.
  5. Track Sponsorship Progress:

    • Maintain a database of sponsor interactions, commitments, and contributions.
    • Provide regular updates to the Business Development team on the status of sponsorship efforts.
  6. Assist with Sponsorship Activation:

    • Help in planning and executing sponsor activations and engagements during the event.
    • Ensure that all sponsor deliverables are met as agreed upon in sponsorship contracts.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Strong Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Research Skills: Ability to conduct thorough research and identify potential sponsorship opportunities.
  • Relationship Building: Comfortable building and maintaining professional relationships.
  • Organizational Skills: Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple sponsor interactions.
  • Marketing Knowledge: Basic understanding of marketing principles and how sponsorship benefits can be leveraged.
  • Proactive and Self-Motivated: Ability to work independently and take initiative in identifying and pursuing sponsorship opportunities.

Our mission is to preserve and honor the legacy of golfing pioneer Theodore "Ted" Rhodes.

Description

Ted Rhodes’ vision was to make the game of golf open to all races. The Foundation is honoring his vision by creating pipelines of African Americans to work in the golf industry as golfers or professionals working in the golf industry by hosting educational events, golf clinics, and golf tournaments for youth and adults. Our youth program is Future Golfers of America " Growing the Champions of Tomorrow’. We provide financial support to Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) golf programs and golf team members to help further this mission. We also partner with local urban youth golf programs. Opening doors to the world of golf.
