This role will assist me in marketing the organization. Potential impact will be seen not only on our multiple digital channels, but out-of-home banner/pennants, and potentially our merchandise! I'm a product manager in tech by training who is volunteering myself so with overlapping skills, I expect this collaboration to be fun and easy.

Don’t judge our current website and aesthetic. As part of this new year we are rebranding. So you’ll be able to play with some modern concepts to bring this whole new image of our organization to life.

  • Product or graphic design experience, preferably in a marketing context

  • Availability for the occasional need such as: marketing banners, website mastheads, sponsorship 1-sheet etc.

  • Estimated time commitment: ~40 hrs between now and October.

    • The work may come in spurts. I could see 10 hrs right off the bat to catch up on needs.

  • Potential to earn commission on merchandise sales should we go that route

To apply:

  • Send resume or LinkedIn profile to katie@ojaifilmfestival.com with a brief paragraph of why you are interested. Doesn’t have to be long!

  • Finalists will have a quick 30 min video call

Mission Statement

Dedicated to enriching the human spirit through film, the Ojai Film Festival celebrates the art of cinema and promotes its appreciation through year-round programming and an annual festival of film-related events. Our diverse offering of film screenings, workshops, seminars, tributes and social gatherings brings artists and audiences together for education, entertainment, conversation and inspiration.

In 1998, the Film Society’s Program Director, Steve Grumette, was invited to serve as a juror at the Canyonlands Film Festival in Moab, Utah. With a comparable population and boasting both a vibrant arts community and a spectacular natural environment, Moab is similar to Ojai in many ways. So on his return from Utah, it occurred to Steve that if Moab could support a thriving film festival, why not Ojai? From that germ of an idea, the Ojai Film Festival was born.

On November 15, 2000, nearly two years of intensive effort by more than a hundred volunteers culminated in the opening of the first Ojai Film Festival to an overwhelmingly enthusiastic response from filmmakers and film-goers alike. The Ojai Film Festival was launched in 2000 with two goals in mind:

  • To provide audiences with opportunities to see groundbreaking work that would otherwise be inaccessible.
  • To provide filmmakers with an enthusiastic audience including film industry professionals.

Now in its 25th year, the festival maintains its artistic direction to show films that "enrich the human spirit by seeking out important films that in some way uplift people or help audiences feel good about being members of the human race or encourage them to live meaningful lives inspired by the examples of others."
