Are you passionate about Veterans and possess a talent for clear communication and negotiation?

21 Vets, a non-profit dedicated to reducing veteran suicide rates, seeks a dedicated Land Acquisition Volunteer to join our mission. In this critical role, you'll play a vital part in securing a vital resource - a 20+ acre land donation - to establish a much-needed sanctuary for our Veterans. The land must be zoned to build several facilities for Veteran treatment and Veteran housing. Water, sewage (or septic), and electricity must be available nearby.

About the Role:

You will be a champion for our Veterans, leveraging your communication and negotiation skills to:

  • Identify and connect with potential land donors who share our vision of supporting Veteran well-being.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with landowners, building trust and understanding our mission.
  • Clearly communicate the benefits of land donation, highlighting the positive impact on Veterans' lives.
  • Negotiate land donations of 20+ acres, ensuring a win-win situation for both the donor and our organization. The land must be zoned to meet our needs with utilities available.
  • Work collaboratively with our team to navigate legal and logistical aspects of land acquisition.

Why Volunteer with Us?

  • Make a lasting impact: Your work will directly contribute to creating a safe haven for Veterans in need.
  • Utilize your skills for good: Apply your communication and negotiation expertise towards a worthy cause.
  • Flexible schedule: This is a volunteer role, allowing you to contribute your time as your schedule allows.
  • Be part of a passionate community: Join a team dedicated to supporting the well-being of Veterans.
  • Leave a legacy: Be instrumental in establishing a lasting resource that serves Veterans for years to come.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with diverse individuals.
  • Strong negotiation skills, capable of securing favorable land donation agreements.
  • Familiarity with real estate or land acquisition processes (a plus).
  • Passion for supporting Veterans and a desire to make a difference.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Access to reliable transportation might be helpful for site visits (not mandatory).
