Mission Statement

At NAMI, we have a three fold mission: Support people with mental health challenges and their families through empathy, helping them find coping mechanisms, and connecting them to resources. Educate people who have mental health challenges, their families, and the general public about mental illness with the goal of dispelling ignorance and stigma. Advocate for more research and an improved system of mental health services across the nation.

NAMI is the largest grassroots mental health organization in the nation. We have a variety of different volunteer opportunities with the San Diego & Imperial Counties chapter, where you can help support individuals with mental health challenges, advocate, educate and make a positive impact on the community!
