Each month, Alicia's Closet hosts Foster Family Respite. This is one of our most popular resources, with an incredibly long waitlist.
To offer this invaluable resource, we need you! We're looking for volunteers to help with check in and check out, to supervise classrooms, and to assist in classrooms, playing games with big kids or snuggling little ones. Volunteering at respite only takes a few hours of your weekend, while tangibly supporting families in our community who have chosen to open their homes to foster care.

Mission Statement
Alicia's Closet is a nonprofit organization serving the foster care community in Franklin County and surrounding areas. We provide infant to teen/young adult sized clothing, shoes, coats, backpacks, toys, diapers & wipes, baby accessories and other essentials, at no cost to families.
Description
We are happy to serve children in foster care of all ages, and teens/youth who are in the process of aging out (or have recently aged out) of the foster care system. (We have professional attire available if needed for job interviews, etc. and our children's section is open to any young adults in this situation who are also parents). We also extend help to families who are reunifying after their children have spent time in foster care. We are proponents of family preservation and supporting families as they continue to overcome whatever barriers they were facing initially, so we often provide resources as part of this purpose.
By supplying much needed items to children/youth in the foster care community, we hope to help create a sense of comfort and normalcy during a very difficult, uncertain time. In the process, we also hope to create genuine connections with families and provide support to foster parents/caregivers.
