ORGANIZATION: National MS Society - Ohio

MS150 "Pedal to the Point" Bike Tour
Riders are ready to get started.

Do you like tailgating??

The National MS Society’s event Bike MS: Oxford is coming up soon on the weekend of July 20th and 21st! We need volunteers to hang out at our rest stops and essentially host a mini tailgate with the supplies we provide. Our cyclists absolutely love seeing friendly people when they stop for a snack or sports drink. We’re looking for a Rest Stop Lead who’s motivated and excited to make your rest stop fun and relaxing.

Rest Stop Training Video:

  • Recruit two or more people to volunteer with you
    • I’m happy to verify community service hours for anyone who needs them as well. This is a great opportunity for people of all ages and abilities, friends and family are more than welcome to join.
  • Show up at the rest stop location at the start of your volunteer time
  • Our supply truck drivers will drop your supplies off for you to set up. You and your team will:
    • Set up the tent(s)
    • Set up the tables
    • Set out snacks and sports drinks/water
    • Decorate your rest stop (optional)
      • Feel free to bring decorations if you’d like to
  • You can also play music! Be mindful that some of our riders are children
  • Greet riders as they arrive at the rest stop
  • Cheering is encouraged!
  • Offer riders snacks and sports drinks/water
  • Restock as needed
  • Remain at rest stop until one of our Safety and Gear (SAG) Drivers has told you the last rider has come through
  • Once the last rider has come through, pack the supplies back up and leave them where you found them (supply trucks will come back around to collect)

Mission Statement

People affected by MS can live their best lives as we stop MS in its tracks, restore what has been lost and end MS forever.

Multiple sclerosis stops people from moving. The National MS Society exists to make sure it doesn't.

Volunteers have fueled the mission of the National MS Society since our inception. The National MS Society recognizes and thanks the thousands of individuals who contribute their time and talents to help create a world free of MS. Whether volunteers serve on event committees, staff rest stops at events like Bike MS or simply give back in other ways to support the MS movement - their generosity and determination are changing the world for everyone affected by MS.

Join us in our mission to create a world free of MS!
