This summer, 826 Boston is bringing its Professional Writing Workshop to a group of high school juniors. The workshop series focuses on supporting students in developing and refining their college essays.

We encourage tutors of all backgrounds to apply, and we especially seek volunteers who identify as Black, Indigenous, Hispanic, Latinx, LGBTQ+, and/or multi-lingual so that our volunteers are more representative of the students we serve.

Shifts occur on: July 16, 23, 30, and August 6. There are two shifts each day: 8:45 AM - 11:15 AM and 12:30 PM - 3:00 PM. You are welcome to join us for one, two, or all four of the workshops in the series by expressing your interest below. We will be in touch with next steps. Please email volunteer@826boston.org with any questions.

About 826 Boston

Mission Statement

826 Boston is a nonprofit writing, tutoring, and publishing organization where students in grades K-12 and beyond can share their stories, amplify their voices, and develop as leaders in school and in life.

Our services are structured around the understanding that great leaps in learning can happen with one-on-one attention and that strong writing skills are fundamental to future success. With this understanding in mind, we provide drop-in tutoring, field trips, after-school workshops, in-schools tutoring, help for English language learners, and assistance with student publications.

All of our free programs seek to strengthen each student's power to express ideas effectively, creatively, confidently, and in his or her individual voice.
