Please visit the new page to apply.

Helping someone learn to read can help them have a better quality of life, access better jobs, complete paperwork on their own, read medicine labels, and advocate for their children. Through hard work and perseverance, learners can change their own, and their family’s lives, for the better.
Do you want to make a difference? Become a volunteer literacy tutor with the Lake County Library’s Literacy Program!
No previous experience is needed. As long as you have a good command of the English language, reading and writing skills, and an interest in helping others, you can help. We provide new tutor training and ongoing support.
We offer one-on-one free tutoring for individuals ages 16 and older to improve their reading and writing skills. Tutoring committment is 1-2 hours weekly.
