ORGANIZATION: 826 Boston

  • Spots available: 7

This summer, 826 Boston is bringing its Professional Writing Workshop to a group of high school sophomores. The three-part virtual workshop series focuses on supporting students in developing and refining their resumes, LinkedIn profiles, and elevator pitches.

We encourage tutors of all backgrounds to apply, and we especially seek volunteers who identify as Black, Indigenous, Hispanic, Latinx, LGBTQ+, and/or multi-lingual so that our volunteers are more representative of the students we serve.

You are welcome to join us for one, two, or all three of these workshops in the series, (July 15, 22, and 29 from 1:00 PM - 2:45 PM), by expressing your interest below. We will be in touch with next steps. Please email volunteer@826boston.org with any questions.

About 826 Boston

Location:

3035 Washington St, Roxbury, MA 02119, US

Mission Statement

826 Boston is a nonprofit writing, tutoring, and publishing organization where students in grades K-12 and beyond can share their stories, amplify their voices, and develop as leaders in school and in life.

Description

Our services are structured around the understanding that great leaps in learning can happen with one-on-one attention and that strong writing skills are fundamental to future success. With this understanding in mind, we provide drop-in tutoring, field trips, after-school workshops, in-schools tutoring, help for English language learners, and assistance with student publications.

All of our free programs seek to strengthen each student's power to express ideas effectively, creatively, confidently, and in his or her individual voice.
