Do you have an exceptional dog who can be trained (or is already therapy certified) to provide pet therapy for our patients and residents at facilities that we serve? Pet therapy provides the most amazing and unique connection between animals and patients with physical and or mental conditions, especially at end of life.
Animals may be able to provide comfort, start a conversation about memories of a beloved pet or even help those who no longer speak (such as dementia patients) to find their "voice" of love with an animal.
You AND your pet would both be volunteers for Amedisys.
If you know of someone who might be able to provide this truly beautiful benefit to our patients, please let me know!
