Synapses is a consultancy about drugs. We aim to ensure equity in the psychedelic and cannabis industries. Our program is at the forefront of harm reduction, providing crucial services to reduce the risks associated with drug use.

Position Overview:

We are seeking enthusiastic and passionate volunteers to join our Substance Analysis Program. As a volunteer, you will have the unique opportunity to attend festivals for free, engage with the community, analyze substances, and educate individuals about safe drug practices. This role is perfect for those who are passionate about harm reduction and eager to make a tangible impact in promoting safe and informed drug use.


  • Travel to music festivals and events to provide substance analysis services.
  • Assist in setting up and operating substance analysis booths.
  • Conduct drug testing using provided equipment and protocols.
  • Educate festival-goers about the risks associated with drug use and safe consumption practices.
  • Distribute educational materials and harm reduction resources.
  • Collect and record data on substances analyzed for research and reporting purposes.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure the smooth operation of the program.


  • Passion for harm reduction and drug policy reform.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in dynamic and fast-paced environments.
  • Willingness to travel and attend festivals and events.
  • Basic understanding of drug types, effects, and risks is a plus.
  • Prior experience in harm reduction, healthcare, or community outreach is beneficial but not required.
