As a volunteer Grant-Writing Specialist for Orenda Health and Wellness, you will play a crucial role in securing funding and resources for our organization, enabling us to continue providing essential support and services to our communities.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent writing and communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling grant proposals and reports.
  • Strong research abilities, with experience in identifying and evaluating grant opportunities.
  • Detail-oriented and organized
  • Knowledge of grant writing best practices, funding trends, and the philanthropic landscape.
  • Experience working in the non-profit sector or a related field is preferred.

  1. Research and Identification: Conduct thorough research to identify potential grant opportunities that align with our mission and programs. This includes government grants, foundation grants, corporate grants, and other funding sources.

  2. Grant Proposal Development: Collaborate with our team to develop compelling grant proposals that effectively communicate our organization's goals, objectives, and impact. This involves writing clear, concise, and persuasive narratives, as well as creating budgets and supporting documentation.

  3. Grant Submission and Management: Manage the grant application process from start to finish, ensuring that all requirements and deadlines are met. This includes submitting grant proposals, tracking their progress, and following up with funders as needed.

  4. Relationship Building: Cultivate relationships with potential funders and donors to strengthen our network and increase funding opportunities. This may involve attending networking events, meetings, and conferences within the philanthropic community.

  5. Grant Reporting: Coordinate with program managers and finance staff to prepare timely and accurate grant reports for funders. This includes documenting program outcomes, successes, challenges, and financial expenditures.

  6. Grant Strategy Development: Assist in the development of a comprehensive grant strategy that aligns with our long-term goals and sustainability plan. This may include diversifying funding sources, pursuing multi-year grants, and exploring innovative funding models.
