The Columbia County Habitat ReStore needs volunteers who thrive in a dynamic environment. As a ReStore Associate, you will gain real-world experience in a retail environment while supporting Habitat’s mission in Columbia County.

In 2023, our ReStore diverted 144 tons of material from the landfill, alone. By volunteering at the ReStore, you would be a part of our work of building strength, stability, and self-reliance through housing.

The ReStore receives donated furniture and building materials from the public which we sell at discounted rates. As a ReStore Associate, you would help us prepare and sell donated products.

With many different opportunities available, there are a number of ways that you can help! Whether you are looking to lend your expertise, learn something new, or you just meet like-minded folks and give back to your community, the ReStore is the perfect opportunity for you! Our volunteers also enjoy a 20% discount while shopping in the store.

Tasks & Responsibilities

• Operate a POS system (requires a background check).
• Clean and prepare items for sale.
• Answer customer questions.
• Help load/unload furniture from vehicles.
• Maintain eye-appeal of merchandise.
• Perform routine cleaning tasks (sweeping, dusting, i.e.).
• Accept or decline donations from the public.
• Help on pick up and delivery runs (must be 18 or older).

Requirements

• Must complete an orientation.
• Must be at least 16 years or older. If you are under 18, you will need to attend orientation with a parent or guardian.
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check to operate the register.
