ALL PLAY Days - Trail Building

Join us at our Holden Arboretum campus to help build out a new hiking trail near Pierson Creek! This new trail will enable guests to enjoy and explore this unique area of the Arboretum. Trail building activities include chopping, lopping, raking and digging. No prior experience necessary - we take all comers, ages 14 and up!

Here are the details:

  • WHEN: 9:00am-12:00pm, after which volunteers are invited to stay for a half hour of light refreshments and celebration!
  • WHERE: Volunteers should park in the Cooper Administration Building parking lot at 9500 Sperry Road. We will carpool to/from the work site so volunteers must arrive on time.
  • WEAR: Volunteers must wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes, long pants and long sleeves. Volunteers who are not dressed in proper attire will be turned away.
  • WHAT TO BRING: Please bring a water bottle; sunscreen, bug spray and backpacks for storing gear are also recommended. All tools are provided. Eye protection and gloves are required but can be provided, if needed.
  • WHAT ELSE: All volunteers are required to read and sign our Volunteer Waiver & Agreement which will be sent to you. Volunteers age 18+ can print it out and bring it with you or sign a paper copy at the work site. Description

Holden Forests & Gardens is made up of two of Northeast Ohio’s most important environmental and cultural institutions - the Holden Arboretum and Cleveland Botanical Garden - whose mission is to advance and inspire a deeper understanding of plants to enhance life. The 12th largest public garden in the country, Holden Forests & Gardens has more than 22,000 member households and an annual attendance of close to 400,000, for whom we strive to provide inspirational and educational visitor experiences.
