About Us:
Decibel is a dynamic nonprofit organization dedicated to showcasing world-class musical talent and promoting diverse, inclusive artistic events. With over 30 years of experience in the industry, we organize a variety of events, from jazz piano series to festivals like the Guitar Masters Festival.

Role Overview:
As a Volunteer Publicist, you will play a crucial role in enhancing our public image and spreading the word about our exciting events. You will work closely with our team to create and execute effective publicity campaigns, manage media relations, and engage with our audience across various platforms.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive publicity strategies for our events and initiatives.
  • Write and distribute press releases, media advisories, and other PR materials.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with journalists, bloggers, and influencers.
  • Monitor media coverage and analyze the effectiveness of publicity campaigns.
  • Assist with social media management and content creation.
  • Attend and support events as needed to capture and share live updates.

Qualifications:

  • Strong writing and communication skills.
  • Experience in public relations, journalism, or a related field is a plus.
  • Passion for music and the arts.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Creative thinker with a proactive attitude.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and digital marketing tools.
