Volunteer Death Doula for Hospice Patients
Are you a certified End of Life Doula looking to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals receiving hospice care? Our organization is seeking a compassionate and experienced doula to volunteer their time providing their support to patients in need of comfort and support during their end-of-life journey. We at First Health Hospice serve the Dupage, Cook, and Kane county areas with a home office in Oak Brook.
As a volunteer doula, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of individuals facing the end of life. Your responsibilities may include providing emotional support, companionship, and practical assistance to hospice patients and their families. This may involve sitting with patients, reading to them, engaging in conversation, or simply offering a comforting presence.
Requirements:
- Compassionate and empathetic nature
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Understanding of the end-of-life process and willingness to provide emotional support
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and respect the privacy of patients and their families
- Completion of a training program for death doulas
- In person meeting
- 18 years or older
