Position Title: Sports Enthusiast Volunteer

Location: Serving Communities Throughout Ohio (Central Ohio, Dayton Region, and Toledo Region)

Position Summary:
Are you a passionate sports enthusiast looking to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others? Our hospice program is seeking dedicated volunteers who share a love for sports and are eager to bring joy, companionship, and comfort to our patients and their families during their end-of-life journey. As a Sports Enthusiast Hospice Volunteer, you will have the unique opportunity to connect with patients who have a shared interest in sports. Your presence and engagement will contribute to enhancing their quality of life, providing a sense of companionship, and offering respite to their families. Here are some of the ways you can make a difference:

1. Game Day Conversations: Engage patients in discussions about their favorite sports, teams, and memorable sporting events. Share your passion for sports and listen to their stories, creating meaningful connections.

2. Sports Memorabilia Sharing: Bring in sports memorabilia, magazines, or photos to spark conversations and nostalgic memories related to sports.

3. Live Streaming Events: Spend time with patients watching live or recorded sports events, creating a shared experience that can life their spirits.

Requirements:
- Genuine interest in sports and a willingness to share this passion with hospice patients.
- Compassionate, empathetic, and respectful demeanor.
- Good communication skills and the ability to actively listen.
- Reliable and punctual with a commitment to volunteering on a regular basis.
- Completion of hospice volunteer training (provided by our program).
