Volunteer position details:

The Chief Operating Officer serves as a member of the Executive Team at CONTACT Line, working in collaboration with the Executive Director(s) and the Chief Strategy Officer to articulate and implement the mission and vision of CONTACT Line, to oversee day-to-day operational functions, and to be the key point of contact for other team members. The COO is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and overseeing day-to-day operations, working closely with the Volunteer Coordinator to connect volunteer Listeners with Speakers in the community.

*This is currently a volunteer position with the potential to become a paid position in the future.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in overseeing and leading the day-to-day operations of a long-term project team, other workplace team, organization, or club.
  • Strong strategic planning skills and organizational skills
  • Demonstrate ability or experience in financial planning, decision making, and analytical capabilities
  • Possess the qualities of directiveness, collaboration, resilience, and organization

CONTACT Line, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Durham, NC provides free, comprehensive support for loneliness through online, face-to-face conversations with volunteer Listeners in both one-on-one and group settings, 24/7 online support group chats, and an extensive list of resources for loneliness and related mental health topics.
