Looking for a dedicated, thoughtful individual to lead our live training workshops for new volunteers. Workshops held via Zoom and focus on emotional support. Training provided and no prior experience needed, just need to be passionate about active listening, mental health, and peer support.

  • Workshops (1 workshop/month)

    • Set date that works for most of each cohort of volunteers

    • Lead workshops (1 hour)

  • Modify and improve workshop content based on volunteer feedback and evidence-based updates on best practices

  • Conduct 1-on-1 mock conversations with Listeners-in-training

  • Evaluate every Listener for readiness, decide if additional mock conversations are needed

    • Send congratulations email after passing final mock conversation

    • Make sure they are in the Trained Listener GroupMe and ready to take conversations

CONTACT Line, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Durham, NC provides free, comprehensive support for loneliness through online, face-to-face conversations with volunteer Listeners in both one-on-one and group settings, 24/7 online support group chats, and an extensive list of resources for loneliness and related mental health topics.
