Backpack Heroes North Carolina

Every child deserves a great education. They’re counting on heroes like you for that opportunity. A new backpack full of school supplies truly can have a profound impact on a child’s learning experience and it can reduce stress for our youth and families. You can be a Youth Villages Backpack Hero by donating backpacks filled with school supplies or raising crucial funds to support a child in your community.

Mission Statement

OUR MISSION Youth Villages helps children and families live successfully. KIDS’ NEEDS COME FIRST... ALWAYS. We make every decision in the best interest of each child. We adapt our programs to accommodate the special needs of children and families. Often, we make personal sacrifices in order to help children and families achieve their potential. CHILDREN ARE RAISED BEST BY THEIR FAMILIES. When at all possible, children belong with their families. We help families provide the support and structure that all children need. WE PROVIDE A SAFE PLACE. We provide care and treatment for children in an open, safe environment. We ensure that young people are physically and emotionally safe. WE STRIVE TO ACHIEVE POSITIVE, LASTING RESULTS. We help children and families develop skills to live successfully by focusing on areas that have a long-term impact on the family.

Description

Youth Villages provides help for children and young people across the United States who face a wide range of emotional, mental and behavioral problems. We work to find solutions using proven treatment models that strengthen the child’s family and support systems and dramatically improve their long-term success. Youth Villages directly helps tens of thousands of young people and their families every year and increases our impact through partnerships and advocacy.

As a leader in the field of children’s mental and behavioral health, Youth Villages earns its status as one of the nation’s most promising results-oriented nonprofits, as recognized by Harvard Business School, U.S. News & World Report and The White House.
