Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of others? Do you have a heart full of empathy and a desire to provide comfort and companionship to those facing end-of-life journeys? If so, we invite you to join our compassionate team as a hospice volunteer.

At Gentiva Hospice we are dedicated to enhancing the end-of-life journey with dignity, compassion, and support. Our hospice program provides comprehensive care for patients and their families, focusing on quality of life and comfort during this challenging time.

As a hospice volunteer, you will have the opportunity to make a profound impact on the lives of patients and their families.

Your role may include:

• Providing companionship and emotional support to patients
• Offering respite care to caregivers so they can take a quick break
• Talk, watch movies, read aloud, play games, color or do anything fun
• Sharing your talents and hobbies to enhance the quality of life for patients
• Visit your assigned patient two or three times per month (we discuss this first)

Requirements

• Compassionate and empathetic nature
• Willingness to undergo training and background checks and drug screen (not THC/marijuana)
• Availability to commit to one hospice patient
• Be at least 18 years old (16 if you want to volunteer in just the office)
• a TB test within the last year (if you don't have we will send you to get one)
• Have an ID of some kind, driver's license is preferred
