Recruiting Organization: Seafarer's Friend

Seafarers’ Friend is a regional non-profit organization providing physical, social, emotional, and spiritual support to seafarers arriving in New England ports since 1827. We offer direct services and support to international seafarers, including ship visits, transportation, hospitality, advocacy, and a Welcome Center located in downtown Portland.

We are seeking community participation to assist at the Welcome Center beginning Summer 2024!


Join Seafarers' Friend in welcoming international seafarers:

  • Greet visitors and offer hospitality
  • Provide Welcome Center and local information
  • Assist with package delivery program
  • Support Welcome Center operations
  • 2-6 hour shifts, flexible schedule
  • Individuals and groups welcome
