Position Title: Hospice Veteran Volunteer
Location: Serving Communities Throughout Ohio (Central Ohio, Dayton Region, and Toledo Region)

Position Summary:
We are seeking individuals in the community who are Veterans or have a deep understanding of military culture to support our mission to increase care to veterans and their loved ones in hospice. As a Hospice Veteran Volunteer, you will provide compassionate support and comraderie to veteran patients and/or families facing the end of life, ensuring they receive the honor, respect, and care they deserve.
Key Responsibilities;
- Provide companionship and emotional support to veteran patients and/or their families
- Engage in meaningful conversations and share comraderie of military experiences, if appropriate
- Participate in veteran honor ceremonies that highlight a patient's dedication to freedom and country
- Promote learning and education with the hospice staff and volunteers to continually improve veteran-centric quality care provided to veterans and their loved ones
Qualifications:
- Must be a veteran or an individual with a deep understanding and appreciation of military culture
- Compassionate, empathetic, and respectful demeanor
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to commit to a flexible volunteer schedule
- Completion of hospice volunteer orientation and onboarding procedures
