GovRise, is a non-profit organization registered in Togo and has its headquarters in Lomé.

Conducting research and studies, advocating for better decision-making, implementing and evaluating performance are GovRise means of action through the execution of its strategic plan.

Its goal is to work for the full development of Least Developed Countries (LDCs), including Togo, and for the transformation of economies, based on better management and protection of the environment as well as social and human cohesion. This goal is achieved by contributing to the improvement of local, national, regional and international governance in a manner that is both holistic and specialized in different departments through an interdisciplinary, multidisciplinary and transdisciplinary approach in order to provide better solutions to complex problems.

Based on an innovative, complementary and unified conception of governance that is both formal, technical and human, we aim to enable, through our services, a convergent and common understanding of governance which facilitates better internal interaction at the level of each actor and between different actors, while making people the main goal of development.

For the implementation of its strategic plan, GovRise is looking for persons skilled in Project and Fundraising for the Project Partnership and Fundraising position to support different projects implementation and the organisation.

The work is performed on free basis. However, people who commit, have the opportunity to contribute to setting up an organization with high and strong added value while enriching their professional experiences. A minimum of three hours of commitment per week is required for zoom meetings when needed, and work is carried out according to each one schedule while strongly considering compliance with deadlines or appointments. Work may be performed from everywhere.

Role

The Project Partnerships and Fundraising officer works collaboratively with the Board of Directors and strives to draft or improve project and secure new funding opportunities and partnerships for implementation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the Board of Directors to engage in strategic and technical partnerships with Civil Society, NGOs, the United Nations, International Organizations and government institutions, to maximize the implementation of quality programs;
  • Contribute to projects improvement or drafting;
  • Draft funding applications proposals;
  • Identify and retain donors, sponsors and technical and financial partners;
  • Establish long-term relationships, by prospecting, cultivating, soliciting and managing agreements concluded, identifying and drafting financing submissions;
  • Create and strengthen fundraising sources and maximize income for the important work of the organization;
  • Secure and maintain partnerships with sponsors or donors;
  • Write and send thank you letters to donors.

PROFILE:

  • A minimum of Master degree in Development, Project, Business Administration, Marketing or a relevant field with at least 05 years of experience and demonstrated success in drafting projects, writing and receiving grants and donations and in creating partnerships and sponsorships long-term trust;
  • Have a creative and innovative deep and holistic understanding of governance;
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to tailor messages to a variety of audiences;
  • Excellent presentation skills and ability to deal with people of all levels and areas of expertise;
  • Strategic and analytical thinking; ability to identify future opportunities and solve a problem using a logical, systematic and sequential approach;
  • Have a good command of key computer programs; the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Powerpoint, Word, Google Doc, Microsoft Teams Meeting; Outlook) as well as Zoom;
  • Be agile and able to work autonomously, collaboratively and flexibly within a team to achieve objectives, with creativity, innovation and inventiveness while remaining objective and efficient in compliance with principles, norms and standards;
  • Be proactive in spontaneously making proposals for better directions;
  • Be guided by the vision and mission while being focused on the goal, objectives and results, and always open to learning more, in complementarity;
  • Demonstrate integrity and loyalty.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Good commend of both French and English.

Description

GovRise is an early-stage organization which aims to be a non-profit with high and strong added value as a start-up. Following a Master of Advanced Studies in European and International Governance at the University of Geneva, Switzerland, the idea to create a non-profit organization to contribute to the governance improvement germinated in 2021, and GovRise was registered in 2023 with the Ministry of Territorial Administration, Decentralization and Local Administration, in Lomé, Togo.
