ORGANIZATION: Briscoe Western Art Museum

Volunteers needed for our annual National Day of the Cowboy Community Day! We will have music, food, and activities throughout the day for guests to experience. Here are what we are needing volunteers to staff:

Saturday, July 27:
Arts and Crafts Stations - supervise tables and help with crafts. Maintain supplies and materials.
Welcome/Check-in Tables (inside and outside) - no monetary tranactions, use an iPad to help check-in guests as they arrive.

Code Adam training will be provided. Parking validations will be given for Riverbend Garage directly across the street from the Briscoe Western Art Museum.

PLEASE, no large family groups with small children or nursing babies. All volunteers must be 18 years old or older.

  • Sat Jul 27, 2024 - 09:45 AM to 01:15 PM CST - Spots available: 8
    We will provide a parking voucher, snacks and beverages. Please dress to play and have a fun time!
  • Sat Jul 27, 2024 - 11:30 AM to 03:30 PM CST - Spots available: 5
    We will provide a parking voucher, snacks and beverages. Please dress to play and have a fun time! Stay and help breakdown.
  • Sat Jul 27, 2024 - 01:00 PM to 04:15 PM CST - Spots available: 10+
    We will provide a parking voucher, snacks and beverages. Please dress to play and have a fun time! Stay and help breakdown.

Description

The Briscoe Western Art Museum showcases historic and contemporary art and artifacts that highlight the American West. The Museum is housed in San Antonio's 1930's central library building, beautifully restored to its original glory. Vaquero, American Indian, and Cowboy narratives come to life through painting sculpture, photography, and exquisitely crafted artifacts.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be at least 18
  • Roughly 4 hours per shift, please sign up for BOTH if you can help all day.
  • MUST BE 18 YEARS OLD or older. Please wear comfortable shoes and clothes you don't mind getting messy in.
