ORGANIZATION: The New Jewish Home, Manhattan Division

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of others? The New Jewish Home in Manhattan is seeking dedicated and compassionate volunteers to join our team as Transport Assistants. As a Transport Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our residents can participate in programs and activities held at our auditorium.

Volunteer Details:

  • Days Needed: Mondays and Wednesdays
  • Time Commitment: Afternoons from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM
  • Location: The New Jewish Home - Manhattan Campus

Responsibilities:

  • Transport residents to and from the auditorium for scheduled programs and activities.
  • Stay in the auditorium during the events to monitor and assist residents as needed.
  • Provide assistance in transporting residents back to their rooms if someone needs to leave early.
  • Ensure the safety and comfort of residents throughout the transportation process.

Requirements:

  • A compassionate and patient demeanor.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to assist residents with mobility challenges.
  • Commitment to the scheduled volunteer hours.
