About Us:

Frontline Medics is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing medical assistance to Ukranian civilians and military personnel. We deliver critical care to injured Ukranians in a demanding combat environment.

About the Role:

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated volunteer interpreter to join our team in Ukraine for a minimum commitment of 5 weeks. As a vital member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring clear communication.

Responsibilities:

• Provide consecutive and simultaneous interpretation during patient consultations, medical procedures, and briefings.
• Liaise with patients and families to gather medical history, explain treatment plans, and answer questions.
• Assist medical staff with cultural sensitivity and navigate any communication barriers.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to medical ethics.
• Driving and handling logistics.

Qualifications:

• Native or near-native fluency in English and Ukrainian.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong cultural sensitivity and ability to build rapport with people from diverse backgrounds.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and in challenging environments.
• Flexibility and adaptability are essential.
• Experience in a medical setting is a plus (but not required).
• Proficiency in additional languages (Polish, Russian) is a bonus.
• Ability to drive an automatic is required. Ability to drive a manual is preferred.
