Uplift490 needs a Social Media Manager to help create and elevate our presence on Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, and maybe eventually YouTube. Depending on how facile you are with different platforms, we would appreciate whatever time it takes to set up branded pages on two or three platforms, train us a bit, and maintain and improve our presence one or more hours per week. We have an account with Predis if you want to learn and work with that. If you have experience with AI tools that are helpful in this area, so much the better!

Empowering Products Change Lives. Uplift490 is all about products that help resource-limited people lift themselves up. We find, catalog, help improve, and help distribute affordable products for people and organizations who need them. If a product doesn't exist, we help create it!

Description

Uplift490 Projects:

  • Cat490: A dynamic digital catalog, a collection of products, machines, tools, plans, and methods. It's updated by the people, communities, and organizations offering appropriate products.

  • The Give Bank(tm): Designers, makers, scientists, and other professionals pledge pro bono hours to work on product design and development as well as mentor those who want to learn.

  • Design490: Providing design principles and resources to entrepreneurial product designers. We seek to collaborate with design-centric teaching organizations, universities, and labs around the world.

  • Events490: DesignJams, meetups, maker spaces provide increasingly-critical in-person, human interaction. We support monthly and quarterly events and look to partner with maker spaces and fab labs.
  • Fund490: A future blind pool or community fund that can apply small funds throughout the product development process. Our partners here are microbanks and micro finance organizations promoting Cat490.
  • Future490: An open forum to discuss other project possibilities that align with Uplift490 and its Partner and Ally organizations, such as Village in a Box.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be at least 18
  • A few hours to set up pages for different social apps and a couple of hours per week minimum to maintain and improve our presence.
  • Under 18 may volunteer with parental permission, but you need your own phone so we can WhatsApp. A basic resume stating your skills and contact info. Minimum of two references. Have some availability to chat during California work hours.
