Basic volunteer duties involved with this assignment:
- Staff Info Booth to assist attendees with directions and purchases. Staff Volunteer Info Booth to check in-check-out volunteers, assist stage mangers as needed.
- Help with set-up the day before and day of the event, help with PM tear down, and day-after clean-up, direct guests to venues. May need to operate golf carts.
- Some volunteers may be asked to assist with serving alcohol to attendees who have been age-verified. May need assistance with non-alcoholic refreshments and water distribution.
Basic volunteer qualifications involved with this assignment:
Ability to stand for at least 3 hours; most volunteers with be situated outside regardless of weather conditions.
Who will be served by this assignment?
The greater Akron arts and music population, and the entire regional community of visitors to this well-established event.
What is the anticipated benefit of this volunteer service to those receiving the service?
Guidance and information for guests is extremely important, as we anticipate 15 food trucks, 150 bands, UDS transportation locations, and an extremely large footprint of festivities.
What specific skills will the volunteer need?
Endurance of the elements is required. Minimal lifting. Clean up and set up duties may include the moving and placement of signage, t-shirts, maps.

Description
VANTAGE Aging promotes positive aging through a variety of programs and services for older adults. Our nonprofit organization serves 38 counties and is headquartered in Akron, Ohio. In Summit and Medina Counties, we facilitate the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) for those 55 and older who want to make a meaningful impact in the community. We also offer employment training, home care and home health aide assistance, nutrition and home-delivered meal services, alcohol and drug addiction counseling, and mental health and prevention services.
