SoundBio Lab seeks a volunteer Photographer and Media Manager to gather images and video to help promote our work of creating accessible science spaces online and in print to prospective members and funders.
Responsibilities
- Gather promotional content. Attend at least two SoundBio Lab events each month to take pictures, videos, statements, and other content for social media. You do not need to stay for the entirety of the event.
- Curate marketing materials. Curate images, videos, and other media that can be used for marketing or grant applications as needed. Organize and label images and any other media captured for social media posts within organizational cloud storage (access will be provided after onboarding). Help generate material for marketing or other promotional purposes as the need arises.
Commitment
Approximately 5 hours per month. Some of the work can be done remotely, but you must be able to attend in-person events at our lab to take photos and videos.
Qualifications
Required:
- Enthusiasm for our mission and a genuine interest in science communication.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Skills in photography, branding, and marketing or interest in developing them.
Who should apply?
We understand that part of how inequality is perpetuated in STEM is the lack of opportunities for education and career development provided to marginalized groups - including people of color, people with disabilities, LGBTQ people, women, and people from working-class backgrounds. Hence, we strongly encourage applications from people with these identities and members of other marginalized communities.
