HCA Dance + Theatre is thrilled to announce DANCES AT THE BAY (formerly known as DUSK DANCES), a vibrant summer celebration of community and dance in Hamilton! Running from July 19-21, 2024 at Bayfront Park, DANCES AT THE BAY promises to be a memorable summer event for Hamiltonians of all ages.
Volunteer with Us!
Join us as a volunteer and assist with various activities such as:
- Ushering
- Event setup
- Information services
- Technical assistance
No Experience Required
We welcome volunteers of all backgrounds and will do our best to match you with roles that suit your skills.
Event Details
- Dates: July 19-21, 2024 with a dress rehearsal on July 18th.
- Times: Evenings from approximately 6 PM to 9 PM
- Volunteer Arrival: Volunteers will be asked to come earlier to help set up and prepare for the event, as well as stay after to assist with take-down and clean-up.

HCA Dance + Theatre enriches the artistic and cultural landscape of Hamilton with high-quality professional performing arts presentations and artist development.
Description
HCA Dance + Theatre (HCADT) was founded in partnership with the Hamilton Conservatory for the Arts (HCA) in 2001 as an incorporated non-profit organization. Now the professionally-focused charitable arm of the HCA organization, HCADT has grown to encompass four flagship events, featuring a wide variety of professional dance, music, theatre, and visual artists. Artistic and Executive Director Vitek Wincza has produced numerous dance productions, arts festivals and showcase performances, and has been awarded internationally for his work. He is a 2017 City of Hamilton Gallery of Distinction Recipient.
Other artistic achievements include an ongoing partnership with Dusk Dances as a local licensee, and Displacement, a multi-arts production in partnership with the Harbourfront Next Steps Series with Robert Glumbek, composer Christos Hatzis, visual artist Vessna Perunovich, and featuring the Penderecki String Quartet.
HCADT's classical music series has run for over seventeen years. In 2021, the concert series grew into the Performing Arts Sunday Series, or PASS, keeping the tradition of live music alive for contemporary audiences, but producing complementary theatre and dance works to highlight and better reflect contemporary issues.
