Recruiting Organization: The Global Partnership for Civic Engagement (& Better Century Awards)

We are seeking a part-time volunteer/program associate for a crucial project about the future of AI and employment and income, at a time when this issue is one of the most pressing of our time.

This non-profit, non-partisan initiative, convened by a group of leading policy organizers with deep connections to Washington, DC policymakers, and organized by Jim Clark (see bio below), a seasoned expert in technology, convening, technological unemployment, and AI governance, is focused on how to harness AI’s potential for societal benefit while mitigating its disruptive impacts particularly as regards its imminent and almost certainly profound impact on employment and income.

The project will have three main phases: Groundwork and Coalition-Building (now until end July), Coalition-Strengthening & Fundraising (August/September), and Policy Lab (October/November). The volunteer is not required to be involved in all three phases, but definitely would be involved in the first phase through the end of July.

Assisting Jim Clark, the project lead, the person in this role will focus (in phase one) on:

• Research/Outreach. Assisting on identifying the world's leading relevant experts and finding their contact details. Inviting them to complete a survey to help gain further understanding of the state of current thinking as part of an invitation to a Zoom meeting to be held in mid-July.

• Survey Tracking/Meeting Management. Tracking survey responses and helping prepare for the large-scale Zoom meting.

• Report Distribution. Helping prepare a report of survey and meeting results and making sure that it reaches target audiences.

Experience/Interests Required or Desired:

• Excellent online research skills (Google Search, chatGPT, etc.)

• Excellent data management skills (Excel/Google Sheets, Constant Contact/MailChimp, etc)

• Truly strong sense of self-initiative and task management when working remotely.
