CORRAL Riding Academy is putting down new roots in Raleigh. Join us in building our barn and program space! Your support will help us get the farm ready for our students and horses in time for the 2024-25 program year.

This is a dynamic project - depending on when you join in, we may be framing walls, installing insulation, setting posts, and more. Experience with construction is awesome, but not required. Our CORRAL staff and lead volunteers will help you learn what to do!

As much of the work is very physical and requires volunteers to use tools / machinery and follow guidance from our construction team, this need is not appropriate for youth volunteers. We look forward to offering more family-friendly volunteer opportunities (such as our monthly Saturdays on the Farm) in the near future!

What to Wear / Bring

We always recommend coming dressed for the weather - wearing layers and clothes and shoes that you don't mind getting dirty is definitely the way to go. A reusable waterbottle and SPF are important to have on hand - we provide work gloves, but you're welcome to bring your own!

Getting to the Farm

Some navigation apps are taking folks a little off course when our address is entered. The farm is located at 3120 Tarheel Clubhouse Rd., Raleigh, NC 27604.

As a back up, you can enter Beaverdam Elementary School (on Tarheel Club Ln.) into your app. Once you pass the school, you'll come to a three way intersection - turn onto Tarheel Clubhouse Ln. When you see Hidden Cove community entrance, turn right - you'll find CORRAL at the end of the road. We'll have signs up to help!

When You Arrive

When you get to the farm, you'll park at the front alongside the road or fenceline. We'll have a member of our CORRAL team in the parking lot or the courtyard of the program building (it's the only building!) to greet you and get you checked in. You'll complete our farm waiver using a QR code or one of our laptops before we get started.

About CORRAL Riding Academy

Location:

3620 Kildare Farm Road, Cary, NC 27518, US

Mission Statement

We’re a faith-motivated nonprofit that equips adolescent girls in high-risk situations through a long-term, holistic program of equine therapy and education to prepare each girl and her community with skills, resources, and opportunities so that she can gain access to a bright future.

Description

CORRAL believes that helping kids requires a holistic intervention. We must address the whole child: emotional, physical, spiritual and mental while providing the skills needed to reach their goals and dreams. Working with horses allows girls to address hurt, trauma and unhealthy patterns in a unique way as they learn emotional intelligence and develop the leadership skills that are required of an equestrian. CORRAL also believes that the support of a network of caring and consistent adults combined with rigorous accountability guides kids into a healthier, happier future.
