PLEASE READ CAREFULLY - VOLUNTEERS BASED IN U.S. ONLY

Looking for a volunteer who can begin immediately through July and invest a minimum of 15 hours weekly. This is a virtual opportunity.

We are in need of a Grants Researcher & Writer Volunteer who is familiar with researching, writing and applying for grant opportunities. We have a specific STEM education grant we are looking to apply for. Someone who has done academic writing is probably best suited as this is a research and development grant centered around educational technology.

TASKI #1: To review the grant solicitation, gain understanding of the guidline, outline the points that must be adressed to present a strong application that answers the critical questions presented in the solifitation. Garner as much insight as possible by also reviewing videos Q& A sessions that will lend additional insights. Research other projects, titles or abstracts that can provide some inside knowledge on previously funded proposals.

TASK #2: Review our previous grants, which have a similar focus. We have a lot of previlsy crafted language that can be repurposed. Therefore, there is a lot to work with and to help lay the foundation. Yiou will be able to extract infromation from the previoulsy written grants. However, you will need to conduct additional research and writer original contnet. There must also be ab understanding in how to incorporate citations and other references to similar work that has been successful. Thsi is where academic research writing would be helpful.

TASK #3: Write the proposal according to the guidelines to ensure it addresses all the key questions that must be answered. Be able to writer multiple drafts until the proposal is finalized for submission.

Prefer Volunteer with the following qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of professional grant writing experience and/or 2 years of prospect research experience
  • Superb writing skills and acute attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills and communication
  • Ability to digest new information quickly and think critically about what information is needed to craft compelling cases for support
  • Ability to think creatively about how to find new sources of support by marketing campaigns in new ways to a variety of funders
  • Ability to analyze, synthesize and organize data in a succinct format
  • Excellent project management, follow-through, and time management skills
  • Has an great work ethic and will remain committed to complete project
  • Very enthusiastic and passionate with a positive outlook
  • Works well independently and has strong leadership ability

B~STEM Project’s primary focus is to provide young girls and women opportunities to gain in depth insight and understanding into the business of STEM disciplines across industries. We also offer an extension of holistic programming for both boys and girls that takes a comprehensive and interdisciplinary approach to STEM instruction.

BSTEM allows students to engage, learn and grow on both an academic and personal level. Our programs offer exposure into a variety of industries from entertainment, advertising and fashion to robotics, agriculture and life sciences. We simulate real life scenarios with a curriculum that’s project driven. The knowledge and skills acquired are reinforced through practice, coaching and mentoring by industry specific professionals.
