Do you want to make a difference for our planet and get hands-on work experience at an international conservation NGO? Rainforest Partnership (RP) is a non-profit based in Austin, Texas, with a diverse team spanning numerous countries worldwide, reflecting our commitment to addressing environmental challenges on a global scale. We conserve and restore tropical rainforests by working with communities to develop sustainable livelihoods that empower and respect both people and nature.

RP is currently looking for a Grant Writer Volunteer to support our development and projects teams and strengthen Rainforest Partnership’s impact around the world. Grant writing holds immense potential to amplify the impact of Rainforest Partnership. Your involvement as a volunteer grant writer will directly contribute to securing vital resources, enabling us to implement crucial projects, drive sustainable development, and expand our conservation efforts globally. Your expertise in grant research and writing will be instrumental in unlocking opportunities that empower us to make a lasting difference in the preservation of our planet's invaluable rainforests.

We are looking for individuals who can commit around 7-10 hours per week.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct thorough research to identify potential grant opportunities, funding sources, and partnership prospects for various RP projects/programs.

  • Create, organize, and maintain well-organized documents with your research, detailed information about each opportunity, etc., integrating previous research done by RP volunteers or team members.

  • Draft and edit compelling grant proposals, applications, and supporting documents tailored to specific funding opportunities, showcasing RP activities and impact.

  • Monitor the progress of submitted grant applications and maintain communication with funders as needed.

  • Coordinate with RP development team members and project leads to share updates on research findings, potential funding leads, and application statuses.

  • Drive the completion of grant applications and related projects by the necessary deadlines.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Excellent research skills, with the ability to efficiently navigate and extract information from various online platforms and databases.

  • Strong written communication skills, with the ability to craft clear, persuasive, and concise grant proposals and reports.

  • Detail-oriented mindset and exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple funding opportunities simultaneously.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a diverse team environment..

  • Reliable, responsive, communicative, and resourceful.

  • Positive attitude and humility.

  • Prior experience in grant research, proposal writing, fundraising, or nonprofit work is a plus but not required

  • Knowledge of Spanish language is appreciated but not required.
