We are a small nonprofit, but we do get a lot of offers from people who want to volunteer. Our main volunteer activity is bundling diapers into packs of 25 each by size. We're looking for someone to help with signing up, scheduling, training, and supervising individuals, families, and groups who want to volunteer and package diapers with us.
The Volunteer Organizer ideally would live relatively close to the GHR Diaper Bank in Chesapeake and have his/her own transportation. If you're looking for an on-going but part-time volunteer opportunity with an active organization, drop us a line.

Mission Statement
The Greater Hampton Roads Diaper Bank's mission is to combat "diaper need," a silent crisis brought on by not having the financial resources to keep family members in clean, dry diapers. According to the National Diaper Bank Network, diaper need is a public health issue that impacts 1 in 3 families in America. The ramifications of diaper need can be dramatic and may result is a cascade of devastating emotional and financial consequences for both parents and their children. The Greater Hampton Roads Diaper Bank is committed to addressing this need in our community. The GHR Diaper Bank is staffed completely by volunteers; and all funds received by the GHR Diaper Bank go directly to purchasing diapers, buying related supplies, and spreading diaper-need awareness.
Description
Since 2012, GHR Diaper Bank has distributed disposable diapers to families in need throughout Hampton Roads. We collect diapers and raise money to purchase diapers and distribute diapers to families in need through a network of more than 40 faith-based and social services organizations.
