Are you a joy bringer? Are you passionate about people? Do you have a heart of compassion? If so, we need you!

Traditions Health Hospice volunteers create joyful experiences, laughter and special moments for seniors in the places they call home. Our patients love when a volunteer visits, at the same time our volunteers have a great sense of purpose and appreciation, knowing that they are making a difference in the lives of those they serve.

Our patients appreciate the attention given from many of the activities our volunteers engage in.....

• Friendly visit with patient
• Listen to stories
• Assist patients as they participate in nursing home activities.
• Assist a patient with one-on-one arts and crafts sessions.
• Plan and Celebrate birthdays.
• Play cards or a game.
• Enjoy fresh air together on a patio.
• Walk their dog.
• Help patients tend to their garden.
• Play a musical instrument and/or sing or hum a tune.
• Read a book.
• Write letters that the patient dictates.
• Special Holiday celebrations and deliveries.

The opportunities are endless, and the smiles are rewarding.

· No Experience necessary.

· Time commitment requested: 2-4 hours weekly.

· Volunteers make their own schedule and coordinate their visits with their assigned patient or family.

· Patients and Volunteers are matched by the Volunteer Coordinator based on commonalities and compatibility.

· Initial and Ongoing training is provided.
