ORGANIZATION: Pancreatic Cancer Action Network

As the Community Builder/Sponsorship Chair, your role is to lead with mission and impact to secure corporate engagement in your local community through sponsorship. You will solicit corporate sponsors to support your PurpleStride event through cash donations, vendor campaigns, employee involvement or other corporate opportunities. This role will prospect potential corporate partners, build a robust pipeline, pitch opportunities to support PurpleStride, and continue to steward sponsors on event day and year-round. This role should partner very closely with your staff partner and the Corporate Teams Chair in building relationships with corporate partners.

PurpleStride is the ultimate walk to end pancreatic cancer and our biggest fundraising and awareness event of the year. PurpleStride is one of the largest sources of funding for PanCAN. Because of PurpleStride, we are able to make strides to advance research, serve more patients, and be the leading provider of pancreatic cancer information, resources, and services in the world. Sponsorship revenue is a significant contributor to PurpleStride revenue. This is why the work you are doing in your role is so important. We are grateful for your help!

To ensure success in your role, you should:
* Be comfortable speaking about pancreatic cancer, PanCAN, and PurpleStride to potential corporate partners
* Be knowledgeable about the event, organization, and pancreatic cancer
* Be able to grow your local affiliate’s prospect pipeline
* Review the sponsorship benefits and ensure other members of your Affiliate are equipped to support.

Mission Statement

Our mission is to take bold action to improve the lives of everyone impacted by pancreatic cancer by advancing scientific research, building community, sharing knowledge and advocating for patients.

Description

PanCAN was the first organization dedicated to fighting pancreatic cancer in a comprehensive way, and for more than two decades, we’ve grown a nationwide movement tackling the disease from all angles.

  • Research: We fund transformative research - everything from early detection to innovative new treatment approaches.
  • Patient Services: We provide information about treatment options, diet and nutrition, support resources and more, and we can answer all your questions along the way.
  • Advocacy: We work with thousands of grassroots advocates to urge Congress to increase federal research funding for pancreatic cancer, and we get results.
  • Community: Be part of our movement! You can volunteer locally, participate in a PurpleStride community event or host your own fundraiser.
