The Volunteer Coordinator manages the volunteers for Rising Up Solo. The position reports to the President and is responsible for recruitment, retention and training for all volunteers.

The goal is to ensure that our organization is always staffed with the best and most reliable individuals and that they are correctly utilized for the fulfillment of our mission. This is a volunteer position.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Review volunteer applications

• Conduct and/or arrange for volunteer orientation and training

• Update volunteer opportunities online as needed

• Maintain Volunteer Position Descriptions for each volunteer assignment

• Implement and execute volunteer rewards and appreciation activities

• Communicate frequently with volunteers to ensure they are satisfied and well-placed

• Facilitate distribution of information relevant to volunteers

• Maintain schedule of opportunities and disseminate schedule information to staff
  REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS:
  
  

• Experience with volunteer management preferred

• Experience with customer service preferred

• Working knowledge of computers, MS Office and the Internet

• Ability to communicate effectively with diverse people

• Excellent organizational skills and team coordination abilities

• A pleasant outgoing personality
