Weekend-Adventures was founded in 2018 with a small gift of $1000. Our mission is to show youth and children who they are beyond their neighborhoods. We do this by leading experiences in the arts, sciences and the outdoors.
Since our founding, and within the pandemic, we have grown to serve mamy families leading more than 60 experinces, and have raised nearly $500,000.
This is what we've accomplished with a team of 1, the founder.
We are at a new stage and are reimaging who we are, and with that comes the need to expand our reach. We have been a fiscally sponsored program since 2018, but we are now looking to form our own identity which will allow us to truly grow and serve the community at the level we needed.
We are looking for 3-5 board members with deep experience in fund raising, communications, and organizational strategy. You will work closely with the founding director to ensure the mission of Weekend-Adventures.

Our Mission is to show youth and children who they are beyond their neighborhoods. We do this be leading experiential trips in to the arts, sciences and the outdoors.
Description
Weekend-Adventures is a fiscally sponsor program of the Social Good Fund since 2018. We serve youth and children in grades 3rd through 12th. Our program is unique as we are not stationary. Our program is designed to take youth out of the neighborhood and into places and spaces that have historically been unavailable to them.
We lead 4 ten-week programs for up to 30 youth per year. We explore the arts, sciences and the outdoors. We offer our program free of charge to families as we understand the complexities of living in poverty. More than 90% of our family's receive some form of government assistance and or free or reduce cost lunch at school.
Our families are loving people, filled with all the hopes and dreams for their children as every parent is. It is a pleasure working with and serving them.
