ORGANIZATION: CENTRAL LUTHERAN CHURCH

At Central, we are seeking a creative and motivated Social Media Intern to join our team! This volunteer role is perfect for someone looing to gain hands-on experience in social media management while making a positive impact. As a Social Media Intern, you will help us enhance our online presence, engage with our community, and share our message with a wider audience.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in creating, scheduling and posting content across various social media platforms. (Facebook, X, Instagram, Tik Tok, etc.)
  • Develop and implement socail media campaigns to promote events, initiatives, and key messages.
  • Monitor and respond to social media interactions, fostering a sense of community.
  • Track and report on social media to measure the effectiveness of campaigns.
  • Stay updated on social media trends and best practices.
  • Collaborate with the marketing volunteer team to ensure brand consitency.

Requirements:

  • Strong interest in social media and digital marketing.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Creative thinking and the ability to generate engaging content.
  • Basic Knowledge of social media platforms and tools.
  • Abilitiy to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Reliable internet connection for remote work.

Description

CENTRAL: A small, energetic community working in English + bilingually to empower our neighbors in Van Nuys through love and grace to be who God has made them to be.
Our vision: We want to be people who accept and live in God's grace, who follow Jesus Christ, and who serve others.
January 1929 Central was a mission outreach & became a vital part of serving a wide range of needs through the depression and post-war Van Nuys. It flourished in the 50's-70's but lost its connection with mission, so dwindled.
NOW, for 15 years, hosted homeless services agencies & opened worship to marginalized folk, experiencing loneliness, disconnectedness, & personal trauma.
TODAY: Core of folks serve both persons experiencing poverty & hunger among the housed neighbors + persons experiencing homelessness.

* Women's Empowerment (w/childcare);
* Kids Community and Support
* Summer kids programs (camp onsite July 2020; Camp opportunities @ mountains late-July 2020)
* Faith & spiritual development-all ages
*WORSHIP for anyone - no limits.
