Volunteers are essential at Good News Home. They assist with fundraising, administrative tasks, operations, and spreading the word about our mission.

Our volunteers are known as the Helping Hands Team, and we are proud to have so many people willing to volunteer their time and talents to make a difference in the lives of the women we serve. We urgently need energetic, outgoing, and enthusiastic volunteers to help in the office. You will work closely with the Facilities Director to reach out to the public for support. This includes making telephone calls to businesses to request in-kind donations for raffles at upcoming events, as well as handling emails, faxes, and electronic data management. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required. We offer a pleasant working environment and flexible hours. Your help is needed immediately.

Your service is needed during normal business hours, which are from 9 AM to 5 PM and can be flexible within that timeframe.

About Good News Home for Women

Location:

33 Bartles Corner Road, Flemington, NJ 08822, US

Mission Statement

To transform women’s lives through faith-based treatment and clinical services. We walk alongside and support each woman’s unique journey from addictions, mental health, and trauma to healing. Our Vision: To promote a lifestyle of wholeness that elevates and empowers women to thrive.

Description

Good News Home is a non-profit, faith-based residential treatment center for women struggling with substance abuse and co-occurring disorders. It was founded in 1983 by the late Grace Tracy Ginsburg, who herself was in recovery from addiction to alcohol and substance abuse. Her vision was to create a residential substance abuse treatment program that focused on healing the whole woman. The Home was licensed by the State of New Jersey in 1987 and started with a capacity to accommodate six women, which gradually increased to nine and then to twelve. In 2023, the program expanded to include a "Mommy and Me" component for mothers and their children caught in the throes of domestic violence, and a sober living "The Butterfly House" for residents who complete their residential treatment but are not yet ready for total independent living.
