There are many ways to get involved at The Center! Some include:

  • Rainbow Lounge
    • Rainbow Lounge is a place for LGBTQ+ folx to have a safe space to connect to others, have access to our available resources, and relax!
    • Volunteers will work reception, our Gender Affirming Clothes Closet, or general help with resources/information.
    • Monday-Thursdays 2pm-5pm
  • Support Group Leader
    • Galaxy - Galaxy is a group for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Questioning high school youth and their allies who want to hang out with other LGBTQ+ teens and discuss issues relevant to their lives. GALAXY creates a safe and drug-free space where kids can freely discuss issues, participate in activities that allow them to become educated about important issues and feel free to be who they are as unique, spectacular individuals! Every other Friday, 7pm-8:30pm
    • Interested in starting a new support group? Reach out for more information!
  • Event Help
    • Help volunteer at some of our bigger events or table at some local opportunities!

We can accomodate for anyone that is interesting in helping at The Center!

Mission Statement

The Center: 7 Rivers LGBTQ Connection provides services to foster understanding and build connections on issues related to sexual orientation and gender identity to the 7 Rivers Region through education, events and programming.

Description

Providing connections for the local LGBT community & allies:

The LGBT Resource Center for the Seven Rivers Region encourages the LGBT community to share interests and activities by providing a central location that is alcohol-free and smoke-free where the community can connect.

Promoting understanding between the LGBT community and the larger community:

The LGBT Resource Center for the Seven Rivers Region fosters a climate of understanding by providing current and accurate information to the larger community.

The Center Provides:
  • Lists and contacts for Center groups, events and activities.
  • A directory of LGBT friendly Churches, Attoneys, and Counselors.
  • Christa Matter Memorial Library with books, DVDs, VHS movies, and CDs.
  • Presentations and workshops to area organizations and community groups through our Speaker's Bureau.
  • Computers and WIFI is also available.
  • A Safe Space where all LGBTQ+ and questioning folx are welcome!!
  • GALAXY-a program for LGBTQQIAA youth ages 13-20
The LGBT Resource Center for the Seven Rivers Region was incorporated and granted nonprofit status in 2004.
